The 49th parallel of north latitude forms part of the international boundary between Canada and the United States. Its use as a border is a result of the Anglo-American Convention of 1818 and the Oregon Treaty of 1846. The 49th Parallel has also been called the Medicine Line due to its innate quality of preventing U.S. soldiers from crossing it. I have chosen to name my company after this boundary because of the peaceful cohabitation it represents and the beautiful country it traverses.
